| Hi, been using bookmax for some years now, with very few probs. However recently, when I try to edit a bookmark it goes to a blank one instead, if I try to delete one, it takes me to an empty folder which I can't access from my login, and when I return to the previous folder the bookmark hasn't been deleted, similarly I can't move any bookmarks either. I don't think it's anything I have done by mistake so maybe a bug or fault has crept in somewhere? Can you help me or fix this problem please. |

You can change the width of the left list with the mouse, by dragging the divider.
But i am sorry to tell you, that i don´t work on this service anymore, it is just provided as is. Actually it was meant just my personal use, now there are already more than 6000 users ;-)

| I've been using this site for more than a year on Firefox and both MS Windows XP and VISTA and it works a trwat - neat simple, does what it says on the tin!
A request - can it be made that the left hand list of directories and sub-directories be made wider (variable width if possible), since many of the descriptions lose the last part as the column is not wide enough.
Also, if importing "outputted" bookmarks, is it possible to make it so that duplicate directories, sub-directories or site URL's are not imported (ignored) so that a whole load of duplicate entries don't result.
Has there been any work done on the site since 2003 as it looks effectively the same as then with no enhancements (not that I can suggest any other than the 2 above!!!)
It would be nice to get feedback from the programmer in the comments/suggestions forum in response to the comments made. Please be a bit more visible and sociable, whoever you are, you've got a great program to be proud of here!
A great online bookmark program - beats all the other "better known" ones!

| Hi, thank you for providing such a wonderful place. But I have to point out there still are a few problems when dealing with non-ascii characters. First, the site will down whenever I use the script to add a page titled in non-ascii character, for example Chinese.
The second is the bookmarks titled with non-ascii, for example, Chinese are unable to show in the exported pages.
I really hope it become an international site, :-), thank you for everything you have done! |

One question, when using it with Win XP, when I want to add a bookmark, the window opens top left of screen. In Vista on my new PC the window doesn't open but just shows as a "tab" at the bottom of the screen which I have to click on to open the window. I know its just another click, but its not as convenient as the XP method. I guess this has something to do with Vista rather than Bookmax, but do you have any suggestions or workarounds as to how I can get the window to open like it does in XP? | I think this is a lovely bookmark manager - neat and easy to use. 2 questions. 1- How can I backup my bookmax list to HDD as suggested in the FAQ's. 2- I use Firefox as my browser. Bookmax worked fine with v1.5, but now with v2.0 when I click "add" the small entry screen is opened in a separate Firefox window, whereas it used to open on top of the main window. Is this a Firefox setting or a Bookmax one? Keep up the good work Peter |

| In settings, there is a field entitled "Table Width" that allows you to set a preferred pixel width for the frame on the right containing the bookmarks / web pages. However, everytime I open bookmax, the frame on the left containing the folders is the problem. I always have to manually adjust it to see the names of all my folders. I wish I could set a pixel width for the left frame as well under settings. |

1) when changing the colors in settings the color map does not display right in Firebird. A 1/4 of it is missing on the popup.
2) The search and icons at the bottom left would be better if they were across the top in a single line for easy access (like a bar) I have a lot of folders so I need to scroll down to get to them.
Question:
Are you considering letting people setup their own site simular to yours by using you scripts? Like open source? This kind of thing would be great to setup on the company's website for it's workers. If not, thats fine, I was just wondering about it? Curiosity, thats all?

| Sometimes I get a bit angry, when i read postings like this one. Why? Okay:
1. Bookmax.net supports date, has a date field and lets bookmarks sort by date. Anyone who takesthe two minutes to complain, could also have two minutes to take a look at the features first.
2. Bookmax.net is free to everyone. I really don´t want anything from the users and there is just a little amazon advertisement. If it is not the right tool for someone, than just let it be.
3. I dont´t like sentences that begin like: "I want ..." or "I would like to have..". As said above this is free, use it or leave it.
4. What should "otherwise, i can not use it" mean? Should this be a threat? As just said above, whoever cannot use it, because it is sooo bad, then leave.
I made this originally for myself, whoever likes it is very welcome, who not, well, don´t use it, but please don´t complain.

| Thanks very much for the new features of "Show Complete Title" and "Show Description". I have made a donation already. However, if I could ask for another favor - the search results list still does not show the complete title. So if I search only bookmarks for end time of "Feb-01", I still would like to see the full title - and finally, it would also be great if I could select from the searched bookmarks for Move, Delete etc. Basically, the search results list should have the same features as the main bookmarks list. Then it is much easier to do bookmark housekeeping and organizing. Thanks again, great web application!

| Hi - I like almost everthing about Bookmax - the one thing I need is to allow display of many more characters in the Title field, maybe even wrapped to a second line - because I need to see the end time of eBay auctions (try bookmarking a couple of auctions, see what I mean). I don't presently use the Description field at all, but it is always shown as a table column which cuts off the length of the Title field, even if I set the table width to a higher value. I'll be happy to contribute if I can use Bookmax. Thanks!

I have my bookmarks organised in folders and it seems that Bookmax can't deal with it because I only However on importing bookmark file from my browser (Apple's Safari) I end up with only the first few folders from my bookmarks bar - all of which are empty. I've tried importing from Internet Explorer and get the same problem. Also if I try and use the Export Bookmarks function all I receive are the titles of the Bookmarks Bar folders - all the other bookmarks are left out. I have over 150 bookmarks so manually importing each one is not an option. Any suggestions? |

| Thanks for the flowers. The menu and the bookmarks are in different frames. You can point your mouse over the thin line between the frames and drag it.
Unfortunately the width of the frames can not be saved, since the frame layout is in html, maybe i change this in the future.... |

I can see only a portion of the Folder Name. If I can increase or decrease the size of the column it would be great. I'm finding it difficult to figure out what a folder contains as the name cannot be seen completely.

Bulk adding of bookmarks from an external file is very useful, bulk adding of contacts would also be greatly beneficial. Just a thought :o), also maybe e-mailing to a group of contacts and perhaps tick boxes to allow selecting more than one contact to e-mail. | I´ve also noticed that there´s a problem with the "add" bookmarks feature. It doesn´t work on all sites. One site is http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/errors.html If I click on "add" the popup window doesn´t, well, pop up. But if I browse to another site in the same window and click on "add", it works just fine. And yes, I have java and cookies on.
This happens often enough as to make the service unusable in the long term. |

The idea for the "Add bookmark" button is to drag and drop it to you browsers links toolbar (that is the folder "Links" in Internet Explorer), form where you can use it to bookmark the actual page that is displayed in your browser. To add a "Add bookmark" function in Menu of the Bookmax list view would not make much sense, because then you could only add Bookmax.net to your bookmarks. |

| Hi Luke! A few days ago i have included something i call "priority". When you edit a bookmark you can set the priority from 1 to 10. Higher numbers move your bookmarks to the top. Hope this helps.
You are right about the email addresses, i habe removed them, they could also be caugth by spambots.
On the settings page you will find the number of users on the top, next to your number of bookmarks and folders. |

Instead they are attached to the title of the bookmark(divided by a " - "), if you check the "Include Description" checkmark when exporting.
